>> This is Nessa...She’s here to tell you about the NSS. Your chance to tell the world
about your experience at BU. But what is NSS? It’s the National Student Survey that asks
you to rate your entire academic experience from the 1st year to the present day. On any
given question you will be asked to select one of five options. Published data from the
survey often combines both definitely agree and mostly agree to give an overall indication
of student satisfaction. So you know how to fill in the survey and what each option means
but what is it actually used for? The overall satisfaction score taken from the combined
student responses will be published in a Key Information Set available to the general public
and from this, future students will gain a genuine insight into your course. But don't
worry...the survey is completely anonymous. Not sure you've got the time? Well the NSS
survey can take as little as 5 minutes to complete. Having completed your survey nice
and early, you will avoid being phoned by the survey organisers Ipsos Mori. If not enough
students on your course complete the survey, the results will not be published. Therefore
we strongly encourage you to not only complete the NSS but make sure your mates do to, ensuring
that your course gets recognised within the overall results. The NSS Survey can be completed
online and by mobile using your BU Student ID number. You will be sent an email inviting
you to complete the survey by IPSOS Mori from 6 February. But why not visit Nessa herself
in the Moroccan tent on campus, receive a complimentary drink and take the survey. Nessa's
tent will be open from 9 – 5 near Poole House Atrium for a fortnight from 6th Feb.
Or for those on Lansdowne campus visit Bournemouth House SUBU office during the same period.
Whats more, fill in the survey and you will be entered into a prize draw to win 1 of 5
ipad2s, 5 ipod touches, 5 Amazon vouchers of £45 or one of 5 summer ball tickets. So
remember those options and get completing your survey today by visiting http://www.thestudentsurvey.com/
