Here’s a question from a viewer, what causes flashing lines in eyes and can it be treated.
Flashing lines, when you see them, can be related to a couple of different problems.
One of them is migraine headaches. Sometimes it signifies a migraine is coming on. And
sometimes people have what’s called ocular migraines where all they do is see these flashing
lights or wavy lines or sometimes you get sort of a tunnel vision.
So it’s good to have your eyes checked with a comprehensive eye exam to see if that’s
what it might be due to because flashing lines can also be a sign that something is causing
problems with the retina, the lining inside the eye, if the retina is torn or detached
you will see these bright flashes of lights and shimmering lines.
So you want to have your eyes checked if you have noticed these problems to make sure it
isn’t something that needs treatment.
