Hy!! I'm Amy and today ,on AmysList.TV, we'll be talking about my detox diet.
It's already september , and every fall and every spring,
for 4 years now, I go on a detox diet!
What does that mean?
Basically it is the hollyday I'm offering to my own body ,
after all the summer partying and
all the extra food i'm eating during winter time.
How can you tell if you need a detox diet?
Well, if you're experiencing one of the following symptoms,
you need to get yourself detoxed!
Sleepiness
Irritability
Anxiety
Depression
High blood pressure
Bloating
Stomach pain
Digestive problems
Costipation
White tongue
Headaches
Diziness
The doctors say..
There are three different general opinions about detox, amongst doctors.
The ones that say that we need at least four detox diet a year.
the ones that preach that our body needs 2 detox diets a year
:one during spring , the other during autumn
and there are doctors who think that's *** .
Meaning:with healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle
the human body makes any detox diet unnecessary.
The best-known and the easiest detox diet is the religious fasting.
Any fasting period means giving up on
meat ,alcohool, smoking and vices all together!
Fasting is really simillar to the detox diet
i'm sharing with you guys today.
Detox diet lenght?
My detox diet lasts 7 up to 14 days maximum.
I ussually hang in there for 10 days.
I've got too many cravings.
What can you eat?
Just vegetables :raw, grilled ,steamed or in soupe!
And for dessert and snacks : fruits!
What can you drink?
At least 2L of liquid daily including tea,homemade freshly squeezed juice
and water.
You can pick a certain tea for every day while dieting.
For example : the first day ,drink rosemary tea that is good for blood circulation
the second day ,try nettle tea four your kidneys
on the third day ,try chanterelle tea for it's regenerative properties
the fourth day drink yarrow tea to boost your immunity system
and the fifth day, drink chamomile tea: very good for the somach.
What really matters is that you drink natural infusions from the dried plant
and always avoid those teas that taste like chocolat
caramel.candy or who knows what, from all the chemical additives they 've got
These chemically-flavoured teas have no therapeutic value whatsoever.
Rest!
A very important part of this detox diet is getting well-rested.
So every night you have to be in bed by 10 pm sharp.
You have to sleep at least 8 hour every night and ideally , it is best to wake-up without an alarm clock
whenever your body feels well-rested.
And, if you have the chance , don't hesitate to take a 30 minute nap , at noon.
Be zen!
Just like during a fasting period,while on this diet you must have a very positiv attitude
avoid fights, and any unpleaseant toughts, people etc.
And focus your attention, in a positive way, towards your inner world.
Your Hour!
The last rule of my detox diet is that you have to use one whole hour ,
daily ,
for doing something you love!
Me? I loove sleeeping! So I get 2 things out of the way daily:)
