Hello, I'm Zhatt and this is the first episode of Tycoon News for March 2014.
The Train Fever team has posted a new video showing some of the vehicles they are developing.
Included is a steam train, diesel engine, street car and a horse-drawn carriage.
It has been announced that the game will be released in the third quarter of 2014 with
a closed beta test just beforehand in the second quarter of this year.
Kalypso Media has released ten new screenshots for Tropico 5.
They show off the new graphical style plus some new features for the series, such as
large residential towers.
This version of Tropico will also support cooperative and competitive multi-player for
up to four players at once.
Testing has started on Tropico 5 with the developer allowing payers to apply for a slot
in the closed beta. A link to the registration forum is in the description of this video.
In February, Banished experienced a relatively smooth launch across a range of online stores
including Steam, gog.com, and the Humble Bundle store.
There are some known issues causing the game to crash on launch and games sometimes failing
to save,
but an experimental patch is already available from the developer's website.
If you own the steam version you can enable the test version in the beta tab of the game's
options.
Prison Architect continues to grow with the Alpha 18 update.
This update brings a large number of additions to the game such as basic education, carpentry
stations and reform programs.
Together these programs will build the skills needed for prisoners to live a normal life
outside your prison and is a large part of Prison Architect's end-game.
Alpha 19 is scheduled to release later this month.
Anselm Eickhoff has shared some of the details for a new game he's developing called Citybound.
The game will feature procedurally generated buildings and free-form road placement including
curved roads.
The goal is to simulate an entire, large region simultaneously with no need for separate city
lots.
Eickhoff promises the ability to mod the game will be a priority for him throughout development.
Yet another game entering beta is '1849' by Somasim.
This city-builder is set in California at the beginning of the gold rush.
The 19th century towns in the game will be populated with workers, who will need to be
housed, fed, and entertained.
The developers promise extensive production networks with over 50 resources and trade
with near-by towns which will be essential to meeting the needs of your workers.
Firefly Studios has released some new screenshots of their new Stronghold game, Crusader 2.
Shown are tornadoes, boats, burning farmlands, multi-player maps and the game's first single-player
campaign.
The game is scheduled to release in Summer of this year.
On the Simtropolis forums, a user named 'Convergence' has posted some of his initial work for a
new, unnamed game.
The game is said to feature RCI and agriculture zoning, subways, and natural-looking forests.
Citizens will have some specific needs such as power, water, sewage disposal, employment,
and nearby services like grocery, pharmacy, and schools.
Although it's not a tycoon game, roller coaster simulator, NoLimits 2, which released earlier
this year is
worth being mentioned. The program utilizes a physics engine which accurately simulate
G-forces, and
also features an advanced terrain engine, volumetric lighting, dynamic weather, and
a day-night-cycle.
The sim is lacking in scenery objects to decorate your coasters, but No Limits 2 is able to
import your own or third-party models, and ships with thirty-seven different coaster
styles.
The game can be bought form their site for $45.95 US dollars.
