Oh, our inspiration for doing this concert
is here to speak a few words to you guys
So if you guys would just listen
for a quick brief moment
Hello I’m Sister Caritas
and I’m a Sister of the Holy Family
and I’m gonna first of all
just acknowledge my gratitude
for these three young men
and what they did to make this happen today
So I thank you for what you’re doing
and what you’re doing on behalf of the
people who are trafficked
It is estimated that there are 27 million
people trafficked every year throughout our world
They’re really slaves, that’s a better word
To say this is modern day slavery
Women, children, and men are trafficked
People that are forced to work for other people
They get no gain, any monetary, anything
It goes to somebody else who owns them
And often they are mentally and physically abused
Terrible situations
It can be anywhere from force labour
People working in sweatshops, agriculture
restaurants, nannies, many many ways
construction workers, prostitution, many ways
So your support and your effort today
really stands for those 27 million people
And it’s estimated that out of that
27 million people, 1 to 2 million are children,
so young people, your age, younger
that are really forced or exploited by
someone else.
So I just want to say thank you on behalf
of all those people and encourage you to
continue whatever you can do to stand
with people who are exploited through
slavery and trafficking
So I thank you and again I’d like to
thank these young men for what they’re doing
today to raise awareness and support, thank you!
Thank you sister for that
Yea, we do try to acknowledge people
who do need help in the world, today
So, to continue with our program
