Cooking nshima
Nshima is made from maize which is found in most parts of Zambia, in most provinces of Zambia.
Out of maize you can make a lot of things. There's sampo, simply grinding maize and then you boil it, you can eat it with milk.
You can add nuts to it.
And then the staple food for Zambia is maize itself. So that's where nshima comes from. Also grind the maize and it becomes fine
Also called mealie meal.
That's the mealie meal.
You boil water, add enough quantity of mealie-meal depending on number of people you're cooking for.
So you boil water, put mealie meal into cold water, add hot water to it, stir it like porridge and let it boil. It has to boil.
It depends on the size of the pot. If it's really big, maybe for an hour. If it's small like this, 20 minutes will do.
