Setting up the Avalon TE-18 centrifugal tumbler takes only a few minutes once the components
have been unpacked. Start by lifting the control panel and sliding it onto the frame of the
system. Once fitted into place, fasten each side to the frame with a nut and bolt using
a 5mm allen wrench. Attach the blue hose from the dosing pump
to the blue fitting on the frame. Next, open the control panel door using the
key on the side of the box. From the back of the system, gather the brown number nine
and blue number eight wire leads and carefully thread them through the black port on the
rear of the control panel. Take the three red power leads and one green and yellow ground
lead and thread them through the white port. It is easier to insert them one at a time
rather than threading the whole group at once. Once they are in the control panel, screw
the white cap onto the port. From the front side of the control panel,
use a flat-head screwdriver and connect the green and yellow ground lead to the green
and yellow terminal. Next, connect each red wire lead to any of the white terminal blocks
labeled one through three. Because there is no polarization of the leads, you may connect
them in any order that is convenient. Finally, connect the blue wire lead to the number eight
terminal second from the right and the brown wire lead to the number nine terminal on the
far right. Don’t worry about confusing these leads during your installation, as each lead
is also numbered to correspond to the correct terminal. After the leads are securely connected,
close the control panel, lock it with the key and replace the key on the side of the
panel. Finally, place the two plastic containers
that came with the TE-18 next to the system, and insert the gray drainage hose into the
bucket you will use for draining de-burring solution. Insert the pump pick-up hose and
electrical water sensor into the other bucket and screw the cap on. One bucket will feed
liquid to the tumbler while the other will collect the wastewater. Use either bucket
for either task, but be sure not to switch buckets after running a cycle, as this could
contaminate fresh de-burring solution.
