Hi, my name is Amanda Oakleaf. I am owner, head baker, decorator of Amanda Oakleaf cakes
in Winfield, Massachusetts where we do cupcakes, custom cakes, wedding cakes, birthday cakes.
Anything you can think of we can make it into a cake and today I'll be talking to you about
baking cupcakes. When choosing a cupcake flavor it's good to keep a few things in mind. Know
what he cupcakes are for, if it's for a kid's birthday you might want to do something more
fun like rainbow cupcake or vanilla cupcakes with strawberry fillings, a few crazy designs.
If it's for adults you might want to do something with coffee and chocolate, even lemon moraine,
[on the card] if you could do some pumpkin and carrot. So know who they are for and then
you can also decide what cupcakes are appropriate for your event. If it's a kid's birthday you
can do some really fun cupcakes, if it's for a wedding you might want to consider how the
color of the cupcakes fall into the scheme of the design and the colors and everything.
May be yellow is your color so if you bake lemon cupcakes, the yellow they fit right
in with the design. And third if you know what season it is, you can tie in the flavor
to fit. If its spring or summer wedding you could do something like a strawberry cake,
raspberry filling, blueberry and butter cream, something that really ties in the season or
you could do for winter more Christmassy flavors with done peppermint and ginger bag and those
are really nice. So those are a few things to consider when choosing a cupcake flavor.
