Today I will be walking you through the complete installation process of
the Bushwacker pocket style fender flares. To begin the install peel 2 or 3
inches of the red vinyl backing away from the edge trim tape. We want to
press the edge trim into place along the top edge of the flare in 1 foot
increments, pulling red vinyl backing free as you continue to work your way
around the top edge of the flare. Next we will install the bolts onto the
fender.
Put each bolt and washer combination through a pocket hole in the flare
making sure that the bolt head and washer are on the outside. Then place a
nut over each bolt and tighten it using your 1/2 inch wrench for the nut
and the supplied torques bit for the bolt. Remove the inner piece at the
bottom rear and front of the wheel well. We will then remove the 6 factory
installed screws using an 8 millimeter socket wrench.
We want to keep these screws for installation of the rear flare. Next we
will install the clip over the factory pre-drilled existing hole. We will
start the screw using a Philips screwdriver, but do not tighten it down
completely. Now we will hold the flare in place while we start the 6
factory screws using an 8 millimeter socket wrench, do not tighten them
down all the way. Now, we will press firmly on the flare and tighten all of
the screws nice and snug. Our fender is now in place. We are now done with
the install and ready to go kick up some mud and rocks.
