My brethren, let us reflect today on this topic:
What it takes to make good confession?
1 - You must want to meet God;
Let us look at Zacchaeus: the first thing you do was to climb, climb the tree:
wished to see the Lord and expect Jesus to look for him to pass
and let him look at him
What does this mean?
You mean I believe that it is He who seeks me
and that I would let me find Jesus,
because it would be dangerous if he came to me and not find me.
He does everything possible to meet me and when I find,
I should welcome him, and make it into my house,
because Jesus said: I want to go to your house. That is:
Jesus wants to enter my house, in my heart.
And in my house, you'll find inside?
Find misery, perhaps joy, because the sacrament is party,
find generosity, I will put everything on the table: wine, cheese, bread etc..
Force, Zaccheus (Strength Anthony, Paula, Maria ...),
down quickly, let your pride, your "I",
because this meeting with me to renew your life or renew your past.
2 - You need the Repentance.
Remorse, that is, the shame of having committed certain actions, is not enough;
Judas himself felt remorse for having betrayed Jesus.
We must repent, which requires you,
all your gift requires of you, repair,
require of us a willingness to renew your life!
You can not start this one,
if you have not yet erased the past.
Thou must provide your weakness and organize
your weakness against this sin.
At this point then, I must tell you, as Priest
no conversion can stand without a schedule of prayer life.
Does anyone think that when you confess, just everything.
No, no, rather it starts everything;
because it begins a new life
and new life should be able to resist so many shocks;
Then, you need a serious program of prayer life.
Who does not pray, can not stand!
People who do not pray in a way proportionate to their weaknesses, can not stand;
who does not pray with perseverance, will fail.
So what is the most important thing, when you confess tomorrow?
The answer is this: To give guarantee of security to your repentance!
You must be truly repentant.
Now, being sorry is not a simple matter of words.
Being sorry is a matter of works, works ... not words!
3 - What works should I do?
Let me tell you three signs of true and sincere repentance:
1 - Openness: if this is missing, a sign that there is still no repentance;
it takes a frankly painful.
Look Zacchaeus: without it frankly would not have climbed the tree!
2 - Concrete in your stuff in your decisions, ie
"Decisive cuts and generous" with that person, so with that addiction.
3 - Repairs: this seems like the lighter work of repentance.
If you try to repair, you can be sure of your repentance,
but if you do not notice, you're not even sorry.
And how should be compensation?
1 - To be effective and must attack the same center of your sin.
If it is a grave sin,
not simply repaired with the prayer of penitence
Three Hail Marys or third ...
Sin severe to be repaired,
anything that needs to attack the root of serious sin,
that attack the heart of sin!
So you need a lot of silence,
because you need to pray very hard to discover the root of sin.
Confession, the Sacrament of Penance is an action of faith
and the act of prayer requires faith,
much prayer, as one needs to study,
do well to examine their repair.
You should ask the Lord's grace. So
Reparation must be effective, must attack the heart, the root sin.
In some cases, your repair will last your whole life
to pluck up that root of sin impure, hatred, infidelity ...
2 - Must be provided by:
Reparation is not a sticker that you put you on a wound.
The adhesive is not sufficient to heal the wound.
We must heal the wound ...
Servicing is required appropriate, proportionate;
You must think before the Lord.
Then, when you confess,
you can ask your priest for thy confessor
this is sufficient compensation?
And he'll tell you what to do and Jesus will help you.
Can you say that the confessor:
I decided to do this or that, to attack the root of my mortal sin;
is that okay? - And he can tell you:
No, no, this is very little, are you kidding?
Your root is very deep, requiring more this and that ...!
3 - Must be remedial: must try! That is, should heal you. (See Gasparino Fr)
MY BROTHERS, NOW,
In this issue of confession, since there are many people who said:
"I confess myself here only to God;
There are so many years since I
I confess to Father!
I find it useful then we know
The writer of the Blessed Isaac, in the century. XII
regarding the confession.
Was as follows:
Christ (says this Bl) not forgive anything without the Church
"There are two things that belong only to God:
1 - honored to receive the confession
2 - the power to forgive sins.
The He (ie God) must make a confession;
Him (ie God) we should expect forgiveness.
For Allah forgive our sins and therefore
It must be confessed to. This is absolutely right!
But, he continues to write Blessed Isaac
the Lord almighty and exalted took a "weak and humble Wife
(Church )"... In fact, it was his side who was born the Church
His hand and took her to wife ...
Therefore, the Bridegroom, that is Jesus, who is one with the Father and one with the Wife,
destroyed what was at least holy Spouse,
nailing to the cross, took upon Himself their sins on the tree
and destroyed them by the cross.
Took what was in the nature of the Bride,
and gave him what he was himself of his divinity ... and
this way he participates in the weakness and the weeping of the bride (which is the Church)
and it becomes common between the Bridegroom (Jesus)
and Wife, including the honor of receiving the confession
And the power to forgive sins;
thus explains that the word "Go show thyself to the priest.
- The Church can forgive nothing without Christ,
- And Christ wants to forgive nothing without the Church.
The Church can not forgive if not to those who repent,
that is, to whom Christ has touched with his grace;
And Christ is not to forgive someone who despises the Church.
Dear brothers, this is the doctrine of the Church that we find in the Liturgy of the Hours.
And now I'll give you the Blessing
that the Lord will enlighten you to understand more
this great grace of confession:
The blessing of God almighty,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit, descend upon you;
About your family, about your children,
On your desires and stay forever.
Amen
