Hi, I'm Kevin and on behalf of ExpertVillage.com we're going to do our third pull. Here we
go. Water, again, I took the water out after the second pull. I don't want it sitting in
there. I'm taking this one out. Here goes some water right on that lip, so it's nice
and thick. Again, dig your finger down on the bat, push it in there. Your middle finger,
all it's doing is pushing out, notice my hands are together. Now I'm going to start bringing
this bowl out. This is the third pull, I'm coming up, coming up, getting close to the
lip. I'm going to relieve my pressure a little bit, I'm going to hold it right there and
slowly let go like this not coming up, not going to come up and make the lip real thin.
Our bowl is taking shape now. Again, we'll set this lip a little bit, like that. We got
some unwanted clay on there, just use your sponge take it off, round it out. Here's another
tip. The peace sign, your two fingers like that, this portion right in there; I wish
I knew what that was called. I'll have to ask my doctor. You can use this to round that
top portion off too. Kind of close them up a little bit. It's nice and round; we don't
want any sharp edges when this is done. Why it's so important to take the water out, again,
is because it makes the clay weak. You might throw a vase next time, and you'll have the
most beautiful vase you've ever made, but you keep forgetting to take the water out
and you literally have one or two inches of water in there. Now you have to stick your
hand way down in there and try to get that water out. So take that water out every time
after every pull.
