Hi Fitocracy! It's Rubes15 finally making a proper intro video for FitoTube.
I've been totally lazy, but I have been watching everyone else's videos and
having a lot of fun learning about the people whose workouts I get to prop
and hearing everyone's opinions on AMA's and I figured I wanted to join in on the fun
so actually I just got finished speaking for two minutes
without stuttering over any of my words and then realized I never pressed record on my
little camera phone so
when I went to press STOP really just took a picture of me making a really derpy
face but this time it's working so
I can start from the top. I grew up
in central New York near Albany, but a small town outside Albany
didn't even have a full traffic light - just this little yellow blinker outside
volunteer fire department. I also went to college in a small town in New York
I ended up having a radio show, and I wrote for a couple different publications,
but I knew that I wanted something bigger, so I ended up moving to Boston
about eight years ago and actually really loved it out here.
That said, I am NOT gonna start rooting for the Patriots or the Red Sox.
I'm a Giants and Mets fan, born and raised. Probably shouldn't admit the whole
Mets bit because we're kind of terrible. But
still, I do get to play a lot of sports
in addition to weightlifting. I actually haven't been lifting as much
recently just because I banged up this shoulder
about two months ago now, but it's getting better. I'm doing PT,
it's not a serious injury, and hopefully in a months time, I'll be back to
testing my 1RM's.
In addition to lifting, I've been practicing
Anusara yoga for more than two years now, I'm in a softball league
at work... Work's actually higher-ed fundraising, and
I really enjoy it. It's sort of my karmic way of giving back since I was a scholarship kid.
I also play flag football when it's nice out on weekends,
and I get to go rock climbing actually with a bunch of other Fitos who I've
met. Hi
Josh and Danni and Nathan. How are things? Don't make fun of me if I fall off the wall
this week, K? Besides all that,
I am a voracious reader - I've got a book on me at all times -
I love to cook, but sadly haven't been able to cook as much lately
just cause when you get home after going to the gym
and it's eight o'clock, you just want something quick so I usually just get a bunch of
of chicken ***
from grocery store that already made
and just wolf 'em down in five minutes.
And also, I love to eat. Part of the reason I work out is cause I
can get away with eating about 3,000 calories a day now.
Maybe a little less, though. I've put on a little bit but that's okay,
cause it'll come off once I can be 100 percent. Anyways,
I also want to thank all you guys. From the very beginning,
joining this website, you've all been incredibly supportive
and friendly and funny, and I've really enjoyed becoming part of this community.
And I can only hope that you guys think the same way
when I get to prop your workouts or comment on something or
say something completely stupid on the internet. But anyways,
thank you, all of you! If you have any questions
feel free to ask them. I'll probably end up doing an AMA at some point the
future,
but for now, good luck, keep working,
catch you soon.
