I really like the costume from Taxi Driver.
In that film it's almost not mentioned at all that Travis Bickle is a Vietnam Veteran.
Yet audiences at that time, and even now,
would immediately recognize that he was just home from the war because
he's wearing a military-looking jacket.
On the sleeve of that jacket is a patch
of the King Kong regiment with a kind of angry looking gorilla that
kind of gives you an idea of what is going on inside the character.
Underneath the jacket he's wearing a flannel plaid western shirt.
That is really kind of an All-American Boy kind of thing.
This costume tells you a lot about this character just from looking at it,
and that's what a good costume is supposed to do.
