Hi there welcome to session 4 we will be taking all about carbs today which makes people a
little nervous because a lot of people don't associate weight loss and carbohydrates too
favourably. I'm here to tell you we are going to make it happen. We need carbohydrates and
I'm going to teach you how to have a healthy balance of carbs while also still losing weight.
So when we talk about carbohydrates we're looking at two different classifications of
them. So both classifications work the same in the body. Your carbohydrates get into your
blood stream, they are converted into energy pretty quickly they are digested really fast
and they get into your cells. They are going to help your cells give you energy, those
are going to be the things your brain needs, that your muscles need, that your body needs
to do the things you want to do. However the difference comes in how much of these different
carbs you're eating but also the different types. So theres 2 types of carbohydrates.
1 is simple carbohydrates, those are the ones that we are going to limit. Those are really
your sugary foods Your ones that even if its not a donut per say but when you look at the
ingredient, its going to have on of these ingredient that I've listed out in your lesson.
So things like brown sugar, corn syrup, honey, lactose, malaces, sugar syrup. All those things
or just one of the many different items that I want you to go through right now, open up
your pantry and look at the food that you are consuming. If any of these are on there,
I want you to toss them, donate them, get rid of them what ever it is, we are cleaning
out the refrigerator. Once you do that, we are going to come and talk about some complex
carbs.
