If you are an internationally trained lawyer considering requalifying to practise law in
Canada, the Internationally Trained Lawyers Program is worth consideration.
My name is Jane Price and I am the Director, here, at the Internationally Trained Lawyers
Program at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. The ITLP is unique; it is the only
program of its kind in North America. It is designed as a bridge into the profession for
lawyers who have practised outside of Canada and for lawyers who have obtained their education
outside of Canada. At the ITLP, we offer 4 programs that are targeted very precisely
to help you to:
• accredit your international legal education, • obtain experience in a Canadian legal
workplace, • complete the licensing process and obtain
your license to practise law, and • conduct an effective job search.
If you are an internationally trained lawyer considering requalifying in Canada, I invite
you to look very carefully at the ITLP. We have worked with more than 400 lawyers from
over 40 countries and we can offer these same supports to you. I can say with absolute confidence
that the ITLP offers unparalleled support. So if you are serious about requalifying to
practise law in Canada, I invite you to take a look at the ITLP.
The Internationally Trained Lawyers Program receives generous funding from the Ministry
of Citizenship and Immigration Ontario and the support of the University of Toronto Faculty
of Law.
