Hi, I'm Doctor Rodney Lusk, Director of the Boys Town Ear, Nose and Throat Institute.
You can assess the hearing loss in your own child by completing a hearing
questionnaire. How would you describe your child's hearing?
Normal, slightly below normal,
poor, or very poor. Has your child misunderstood words
when he's not looking at you?
No, rarely, often, always.
Has your child had difficulty hearing when in groups?
No, rarely, often, or always.
If your child has failed two of the three questions
there's a 79 percent chance of a documented hearing loss
and should have a hearing test. For more information and videos on pediatric ear,
nose and throat problems
