I am wearing Marmot's Zeus jacket, a long time favorite in the Marmot line. This is
a nice clean insulated piece. It has got premium 800 fill goose down. So it is light weight.
It is compressible. And it looks great. Really kind of a do everything winter piece.
Marmot utilizes a down proof fabric, face fabric on the jacket. That keeps individual
feathers and plumes of down from finding their way out of the jacket. In time that would
make the jacket less warm than it is to start. So it really increase the longevity of the
warmth of the jacket.
The combination of that ultra light weight fabric and that 800 fill down results in a
jacket that is a less than a pound and highly compressible. Really clean profile, obviously,
to the jacket. So a pretty low profile baffling. As far as fit features you do have elasticity
on the cuffs that keep those sleeves in place, keep them riding up. Should also mention Marmot's
angel wing construction. They utilize this on a number of their jackets. It is cut in
such a way that when you are moving, lifting your arms, the jacket isn't lifting up, riding
up on you and, in turn, making you cold or allowing cold air to slip inside the jacket.
Another point of adjustability here at the hem, two different draw cord hardware pieces
that allow you to cinch the jacket in and really dial that fit.
Zeus jacket. Again, really one of my favorites in that I can wear it all winter long for
anything and everything either as an outer layer or, because of its low profile, as a
nice mid layer beneath a shell or a heavier insulated piece.
