let's talk about the things people have been emailing me about at david david
happen dot com we had on the last show my former economics professor
uh... professor emeritus of the university of massachusetts richard wolf
and he was talking about the s_ and p_ debt trap downgrade and the debt deal
and a lot of people pointing out richard wolf is a marxist economist
and then the argument is therefore
we shouldn't care about what he says there what he says incorrect is that the
and implication i think that's right
if that's how i'm reading at the time is that how you're seeing it as well
i mean it's the typical comment
is not an argument
but instead in such a way that it goes in place in in in a sentence word
argument would go all he's a marxist of somehow
that uh... remove did that delusion in my eyes is everything he said everything
he said seem to make sense to me and you know what
i didn't even hear anything particularly uh... marxist about what he was saying
he was using pretty basic stuff about
the history simply but the friend oppression who writes
one simple phrase that says he's a marxist and that's supposed to be
legitimize them
if you ask that person what a marxist as i'm pretty sure they can
that's probably true another email who remembers when all the democrats were
screaming about how bad the debt was when bush was president and all the
republicans said that
was a relevant
i remember that
and by the way where were we went all the same republicans now talking about
the debt we're voting
increase that debt
there were a number of different proposals during the bush administration
that really mentioning if that is a relevant that this doesn't matter how
much you're increasing yet that's what you would think
on the topic of robots replacing humans were willing to exercise it what would
be to the economy
robots don't have unions or rights when profit matters above all else cheap
products replacing humans is inevitable
and then if robots can produce goods faster better and cheaper than human
hands than came comes to reason that prices should come down this doesn't
seem to give capitalism the ability to work because the goal of capitalism is
ever-increasing profits that's an interesting today right and the problem
then is how do we as a society produce enough jobs for the remaining human
workforce we need new jobs and professions to keep the masses of people
willing to bork
that's a brilliant point
and that's a question which is if we just think of robots replacing current
human jobs
and not creating new areas of work where and we keep getting more and more humans
it's going to be a problem but we need a paradigm shift then you would think a
society becomes more and more advanced now there are many jobs which a hundred
years ago where necessary
which now are nineteen their completely
foregone conclusions in human life for the most part when things work properly
man
so the question is
what paradigm shift
may take place
to lead to the next level of human innovation
i don't have the answer
i don't think we listed
i don't think anyone does on the topic of mit romney romney has no principles
no integrity he will say anything switch any position in his pursuit of power
i agree mit romney seems to be the appear to me
of the flip-flop
and i'm still hoping sarah have turned pale in enters the race maybe even as a
third-party candidate bety backers would be so confuse trying to decide who to
vote for paler bachmann that their brains would literally short circuit
by still maintain sarah pale and will not be running for president
she is no reason to she can't win she's making much more money doing which is
doing now and it's probably of more relaxed schedule too
