Kyle Bradshaw with this week’s Cruiser Customizing tip of the week, where we’re going to talk
about motorcycle covers.
Here’s a little charity before we jump into the features and benefits of the most popular
covers on the market. With every purchase of this motorcycle cover, $5 gets donated
to the Breast Cancer Awareness Fund.
As you can see, we’ve got covers that fit just about every motorcycle. So, if you’re
looking to protect the ta-tas in your life, as well as protect your bike, this Ultra Guard
Breast Cancer Awarness Cover is a great option for you to consider.
Here at Cruiser Customizing we’ve got four manufacturers that do most of our cover sales.
You’ve got the Dalco Guardian Covers, Nelson Riggs, CoverMax, and Ultra Guard. Most all
manufacturers have four basic covers. You’ve got a dust cover which is nothing more than
a piece of PVC or a t-shirt-type material that you drape over the motorcyle. Keeps the
dust off your bike but does almost nothing for protection other than dust.
Once you step away from the dust cover, that’s probably right around twenty bucks, you’ve
got the half-cover. This is a great example from Nelson Riggs. This cover stretches over
the handlebars, goes back to the seat, and covers just the top portion of the motorcycle.
Protects it from UV, protects it from things falling on, bird poop, and things of that
nature.
Any manufacturer has three basic levels of cover. You’ve got your basic cover, your
intermediate cover, and your awesome deluxe premier cover. What does that mean? Quite
simply, different levels of protection, three different stages of protection, if you will,
at three unique price points.
Specific things to take a look at when choosing a cover are going to be size, material, whether
it has heat shields, does it accommodate a windshield, a sissy bar, does it have vents,
grommets, is it water-proof or water-resistant? Those are a couple main things to look at
when choosing a cover. So make sure you read the description and take a look at the offerings
of every cover you are looking at has to offer.
CoverMax is one of our top sellers of economy covers. This standard cover retails for right
around the $40 range and does a pretty good job at keeping stuff off of your motorcycle.
The classic cover from UltraGuard, which I’m going to demonstrate later, is very comparable
to the CoverMax, has a couple more features that you’re going to find beneficial.
Cover features: inter-locking double-stitch seams, breathable water-resistant-enhanced
light-weight protection, lower-panel heatshield protection, windshield liner, shock cord,
bungee tie, high-visibility reflective logo, high-visibility accent stripe, ultra guard
vent system, storage pouch, and a three-year warranty.
So here we’ve got the Ultra Guard Classic Cover. This cover has a couple neat features
that I want to point out. This is the zippered pouch that holds the windshield bag. You’ll
be able to unzip this pouch and use it on a bike that has a windshield.
Take a look at the bottom of the cover. There’s a little bit of an elastic there to keep the
cover stretched around the bike. There’s hooks to be able to attach the hook under
the bike, to keep the cover from lifting off the bike in case there is wind. And there
are shielded panels so that the exhaust does not melt the cover if the cover goes on the
bike when the bike is warm.
The easiest way to install this cover is to lay it out in front of the bike, good start,
logo here on the front, down over the front tire. So there you have it, the cover is installed.
Now at this point in time we could come here at the center, it stretches across either
side to fully secure this cover onto the motorcycle so we can ensure that no wind is going to
knock this cover off the bike.
The cover that you just saw is also available in Breast Cancer Awareness Pink. Take a look.
As you can see here, we’ve go the official Breast Cancer Awareness Logo. On the front
here we’ve got the UltraGuard Cover Logo. If this bike was fitted with a windshield,
you’d be able to extend the windshield pouch so that you have windshield coverage with
your cover and your motorcycle.
Back here in the back we can open this up and we can slide this over a sissy bar, for
sissy bar protection without damaging the cover.
On the bottom of this cover you can see that we have really strong elastics running through
with grommets, so you can tie the cover closed over your motorcycle. Get your bike parts
and accessories of Breast Cancer Awareness and order online today. We’ve got it medium,
large, touring, and the extra-large bagger cover. Five dollars will be donated with the
purchase of each cover to the Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation.
Breast Cancer month is here. October is here. And here are some other items to show your
support.
Here’s the Zan Headgear Fly Gannet with the breast cancer ribbon.
The HJC-IS24 Helmet is great in support of the cause.
This battery tender, a large percentage of the retail cost is donated to the Breast Cancer
Awareness Foundation.
The Speed and Strength Cross-my-Heart Textile Jacket.
And the Betty Boop Go-Pink Motorcycle watch.
Thank you for watching this motorcycle cover and breast cancer awareness tip of the week.
Until next week, take care, and ride safe.
