Good afternoon! This is Sophia Farrell from NESF
reporting to you from outside of Giant Food Store. We are about to go inside
and see how important sodium is. Hopefully we will encourage
YOU to buy some!
Hello, this is Natalie Walstrum reporting from inside Giant Food Store.
Here I am going to interview a few
"random" ;) *wink* people on their thoughts on sodium.
First we are going to look at a few products with sodium in it. Emily?
Hershey's Special dark chocolate has 15
milligrams of sodium in it. See?
That's right! And Sour Patch Kids have 25
milligrams in it. Orange juice has zero- Oh, it doesn't have any sodium in it.
Moving on!
And salt has- Wow! It has
590 milligrams of sodium in it! No wonder,
because sodium plus chlorine makes salt! And
now it's time for some interviews with "random" ;) *wink* people
(in background) Ooh! Birthday Blast!
Excuse me sir, What are your thoughts on sodium? Well I think
sodium is important because it helps your nervous system. Did you know sodium is in almost
everything we consume? Well, I don't really look at the back. (of the product)
Thanks for your input. Now we're going to interview another
"random" ;) *wink* person! Excuse me,
Did you know that sodium
can be cut with a knife? Yes!
Surprisingly, sodium is very soft. Do you know what
sodium violently reacts with? Well, i'm not a science
genius, so sadly no, I don't. It reacts violently
with water. Thanks for trying though. Back to Sophia.
Who knew this soft, silvery, white metal is so important in our daily lives?! That concludes our news report.
Once again, this is Sophia Farrell signing off
from NESF Element News. *smile*
