Hi everyone, I'm Vitor Paschoal, this is one of my professors Osvaldo Queixinho, I'm gonna show you guys 3 different situations
From spider guard when my opponent is trying to pass my guard on his knees.
The first one is very simple. I'm here playing spider guard, one foot stretched on the biceps
I'm gonna step on the mat with my other leg so I have enough space to set up the laço
I'm going to move my leg from the outside to the inside, stretch and adjust my foot right on his triceps. His hands must be trapped always.
Otherwise he's gonna take his hand off and pass my guard.
So, in this first scenario, he is trying to pass with both of his knees on the mat.
It's simple, I'll just take my hook out and at the same time I'll move my other leg on to his biceps so I can easily move my hip to the side.
When moving my hip to the side, I'll bring my left knee close to my chest and my right leg goes onto his knee like the scissor's move
And I'll stretch my left leg all the way to the right side.
From here I'll take the laco hook out, bring my left knee close to my chest, stretch my left leg to the opposite direction and kick his knee with my bottom leg.
I'll bring his arm close to my belly until I'm on top and get a full mount.
One more time.
So, first foot stretched on the biceps. Foot on the mat, scape the hip to make enough room to place the laco hook.
I'll take hook out at the same time that I'll bring my left leg close to my chest I'll stretch it and use the momentum with my right leg to sweep him.
This was the first one.
Now, second scenario.
just a reminder, on the spider guard, when I say "foot on the biceps" it's just a reference, in reality, my foot is right on his elbow joint.
This way I have more control of his arm.
Always stretching my leg while grabbing his gi to pull it towards me to have a strong grip.
I'll scape my hip to the side, same thing, will put my hook in and adjust the laco.
Now in this scenario, using the laco hook as a reference, I'll show that if he tries to pass using his knee on the same side,
I have one option, if he tries to pass using the opposite knee I have a different situation.
If he brings his same side knee up to pass, I'll take my hook out because my goal is to place
my foot in front of his shin. It can be difficult if he's too close.
so if there's no flexibility, I can always scape to the side to make a little room and place my foot as intended.
Now I can adjust my position using this hook to get closer to him.
Now I have strength enough to push his arm to my left side and at the same time I'll kick this leg up.
I'll stretch my leg to the side and kick my right leg up. He's gonna lose his balance and will try to came up. I'll slide both of my legs to get him in the triangle.
If I do it really fast, I have the omoplata too.
Now, a little bit faster
I'm gonna set up the spider guard. He will stand the same side leg. I'll take the laco out, step on the mat, move the hip and put the hook on his shin.
With the hook I'll adjust my body to stretch my left leg to the side at the same time I'll kick his leg up with that same hook.
He's gonna try to came up and I'll get the triangle. If he takes the head out, I still have the omoplata.
Third scenario
He'll move his opposite side knee to pass. Always having my laco hook as reference.
Now on the spider guard, I'll keep all my grips and place my right foot under his upper leg.
Right on the knee joint.
I'll let go the grip of the 'foot on biceps' and switch to the other sleeve. Having now both hands in one sleeve to adjust his arm inside the hook.
I'll let go the right hand to grab his gi on the back.
While I'm holding his gi on his back, I don't need my foot stretched on the biceps anymore. So I'll put my left foot on the mat
Now, I don't need too much strength to kick him.
I'm not gonna just use the strength of my right leg.
I'm also gonna use my left leg to scape my hip to the side, so my kick will go in this direction, like an arch.
So, I'll step on the mat, scape the hip, bring him close to me and now he's lighter and easy to hold.
I'll lift him with my leg and kick to the side.
Here I'm gonna get close to him and put all my shoulder pressure on his face, let go the hand and grab his pants to pass the guard.
If he locks the guard, I'll keep the pressure and kick the leg to pass.
One more time
Set up the spider guard. He moves his opposite knee up to pass.
I'll place my right foot on the knee joint. Switch the grip to have both grips on the other sleeve.
Let go the right hand to grip the back of his gi. Take the foot out of the biceps to step on the mat. Scape the hip, bring him close and kick to sweep him.
I'll get closer to put the shoulder pressure on his face. If he locks his guard, I'll scape my hip until only my foot stays inside and then kick his leg to pass.
I hope you guys like it and use it a lot while training. Have a good roll everyone. Thank you.
