Hi everybody, welcome to Cliff Notes Tuesday. I'm Simone Czech, I'm the social media intern
at iAcquire. And I am talking about part of the Link Building Book today, Chapter 1, The
Basics of Link Building. Everyone is usually wondering, "What is link building? It's everywhere."
And like many lessons in life, they also apply to link building. When you first start, you
have to have an amazing company, and amazing website, of course.
And at first, when you try to build links, it's very difficult. It takes a long time,
it takes a lot of effort to just get a few links. But as you go, the learning curve over
time, like at the beginning, you are here, very high efforts for feelings. And over time,
you will learn the business. It's less effort, you get more links. Ideally, of course, the
links will come to you, but that's the case for only a very few companies.
So why is it important? As I said, you have an amazing website, amazing content. But if
nobody links to it, Google will think you are irrelevant. So, it's important that, when
Google crawls the websites, that it recognizes the links that are built to your website.
So the more links that are built to your website, the more recommendations you are getting.
And the higher your rank in Google.
The more websites that link back to your own website, the higher you will appear in Google.
And the more relevant you are, the more visitors you will get. And, now onto the next part
of the history of link building.
