Hi! I’m from Close To My Heart.
Today I’ll show you several ways to use the images
from the My Acrylix® Dreams Come True stamp set.
Let’s jump right in because I have a LOT to show you!
I’ve used the stamp set in several places on this banner,
but the main element I want to focus on is the title.
Isn’t it gorgeous?
I took our Dimensional Elements,
traced them on Colonial White cardstock,
and then cut them out.
Here’s a tip: When you trace your letters,
be sure they are facing you
and have the correct orientation as you trace it...
{no narration}
...like this.
Then, I stamped the large corner flourish
on each letter with VersaMark® ink,
rotating the image so that different elements
from the flourish are on each letter.
Then, I poured clear embossing powder on the sticky ink
and heat set it with my craft heater.
Now comes the fun part.
I take a sponge dauber, ink it with Chocolate ink,
and then rub the dauber over each letter.
See how the embossed area stays Colonial White?
That’s because the embossed area resists the ink. So cute!
Once all of my letters are embossed, inked, and cut out,
I just attach them to the DE
and then give the edges a quick sponging with Chocolate ink.
I just love how elegant the title turned out, don’t you?
Okay, moving on to the next piece of art.
I wanted a chunkier sentiment
but I didn’t have enough space for the large “dream,”
so, I stamped the bottom portion of this sentiment
and then cut the strip into three segments,
sponged the edges, and accented each word with a bitty brad.
On this next card, I had enough space for the large “dream,”
so I embossed it and then used the same sentiment
from the card I just showed you, but I kept it in one image.
However, to make sure my main word stood out,
I just stamped this sentiment in second generation
and chose my placement as if I were doing a puzzle.
I’ll show you what I did.
I just ink the image,
stamp once on scratch paper,
and then rotate the image to make my word puzzle.
Then I would continue re-inking and rotating
until I had the look I wanted,
like this! Totally easy!
Does this card look familiar?
That’s because it’s featured on page 25
of the 2011 Spring/Summer Idea Book.
This card uses the same sentiments that we just talked about,
so I want to focus on the Vineyard Berry flourish
in the bottom right corner.
Did you think it was part of the B&T Duos® paper?
Well, it’s not!
It’s actually the corner of the large flourish image.
That’s one of my favorite aspects about clear stamps:
you can see through the image and know what it will look like
before you ink it and stamp it.
So, you can play around with the position of the stamp
and get just the right look,
just like we did with our title on the banner.
Now it’s your turn!
