To prepare our wooden base before we start, you'll want to rough it up a little. It helps
the tiles adhere to the surface. So, I have here something that I made. I just put nails
into a board until they stick out. This is great for really gouging up a surface that
needs to be mosaicked. So you just scrape it up, just all the surfaces that you will
be mosaicking. The next step to preparing our wood base for the mosaic is to coat it
with a layer of white glue and water. You'll want to mix up 4 parts water to 1 part white
glue and paint that over the entire surface where it will be mosaicked. Then, you'll want
to let that dry thoroughly. This will seal the wood and so the grouting won't dry too
fast because the wood often soaks up the liquid in the grout. So this will seal it so it won't
soak up the liquid in the grout. It gives better adhering to the tile adhesive. So,
you just coat that over completely and let it dry thoroughly.
