Hi guys and in this tutorial I'll be showing you how to make this simple chain scrunchie
and I used 8 ply for AU, 3 ply US
yarn
worsted weight yarn
acrylic
and a three point five-millimeter or E hook
and heres some of the yarn
it's not like 10 ply
it's like
two strands twisted together
and it tightens up well
but if you have 10 ply
yarn instead
it works too
but 8 ply is much better
and also you will need a rubber band
it's better if you can get one without the metal piece
but you can use it if it does
but it may break later
so take your
yarn make your slip knot
take your rubberband and go through the center
Pull up some yarn
you have two loops
pull through both loops
and that's how you attached by a single crochet
continue go through the band and pull up a loop
and pull through both loops and continue to single crochet
all the way around the rubber band until you get back to the beginning
and i'll
show you how to work around this middle piece
I want to show you
whenever you get to the top here
pull your stitches down the rubberband
but not to tight, you want to have around fifty or so stitches covering the rubberband
if it's to tight then stretch your rubber band to losen the stitches
you want to have enough to cover it
without twisting or warping the rubber band
the more stitches you have one here the fuller your rubberband will be
which is pretty but harder to use as a rubber band afterwards
okay, now we're getting here at the end
where the metal piece is
and just keep working your single crochets
across the metal piece here
try to stay under it if you can
because i know this little metal part
can be hard to work over, you can push your stitches over it after if you need to
okay, when it's covered
and it looks good
slip stitch into the beginning stitch
and chain ten
counting...
counting... ten
and slip stitch into that same space
slip stitch into that same stitch that you slip stitched to end the round before
and chain ten again
counting...
nine ten
again slip stitch into that same space
one more time
chain ten
and slip stitch into that same space
chain ten again
and slip stitch into the stitch to the left
and connecting it here will count as this stitches first chain stitch
in each single crochet stitch you want to have three connections
into this one stitch
you can kind of see over here
you had
this first connection where you slip stitched into and then you slip stitched
second time and that's where you slip stitched the third time
and then once you have those three connected in one stitch
move to the next stitch and slip stitch there and continue
we just slip stitched into this next stitch now and as you can see there's only one
connection
so chain ten
now we make our second connection in that
same stitch, now we have two connections here
chain ten again
now we're going to make our third and final slip stitch into this same stitch
now you can see we have
three connections into that same stitch
now chain ten again
counting... eight nine ten
this next one you slip stitch into this next stitch to the left
and you continue to do that
all the way around for all the stitches
until you get back up to the beginning
and it's gonna look something like this
I wanted to give you a little tip here, when you get going, as you can see I'm halfway done
it gets a little more difficult and make your connection
counting....
nine ten
as you can see I have a long loop here
just keep pulling up
until it tightens
and then you can keep chaining
i'll show you again
see you have
so much yarn here
what you do is just pull through
cool to room
and just pull up your loop until it tigethern and then you can just pull your yarn back down
it just makes it easier to make the connection
when you have all this stuff in the way
When you get to the end of the scrunchie here
find the beginning stitch
and slip stitch into the beginning stitch and chain one
cut your yarn
pull it tight
then hide your tail
i like to use the stitches that are around the rubber band
using a tapestry needle is easier
pull it through a couple
a few times
and pull your rubber band
make sure that it's going to hide it
like that
then cut your access
and there you go that's your chain
simple chain scrunchy
