Hello everyone, it's Douglas E. Welch with a short, TechnologyIQ note
if you're a Twitter user or a Facebook ,you may have noticed that there
was just an announcement that Twitter has been quote-unquote hacked. Upwards
to two hundred and fifty thousand accounts were compromised in some way
now first of all my first thing is Don't Panic!
okay doesn't mean anything happen your account. It Doesn't mean it's sent out any
messages or anything like that. What it does mean is a Twitter thinks it that might
have been compromised. They might have taken things other then your password
there are
underlying information that might be used for few future hacking attacks so
when you log into your twitter or if you look in your email you may notice a
message from twitter saying "Hey reset your password" No big deal go ahead and
reset your password when you log into your twitter accoun. Set it to
something different. It's always a good uh... good reason to
make sure you change your password is something new when this happens
Look for any untoward messages from your Twitter account, but i doubt you
are going to see anything. Pretty much of this is a protection that twitter is put
into place. They basically locked the accounts down so nothing can be done
with them should they have gotten access to the passwords at all
So again don't panic and change your password. If you see
anything else are you can find information on theTechnologyIQ blog
at TechIQ.welchwrite.com
If you have any questions, ask them in the comments
send them to techiq@welchwrite.com
or you can also send them via twitter to @techiqpod for

Again, if you have any questions pass them along, otherwise until next time Control Your
Technology, Don't Let It Control You!
