Hello, I'm Melissa Schenk and on behalf of Expert Village today we are going to be learning
how to organize your closet. In this clip we are going to talk about doing something
with all of those piles of clothing. Of course the keepers you are going to keep the seasonal
pile, you are going to put in some type of storage. We are going to get to that in later
clips. Let's talk about the clothes that are wearable, but that are perhaps not for you.
The first thing you can do is make some money on them. You can sell them. If they're in
great shape you can take them to a consignment shop and sell those clothes, or at least try
and sell them. Secondly, you can donate them. Of course, you can donate them to any kind
of charity, the Salvation Army, or the local church might be having a fund raiser. So you
can donate them. Also, number three, of course you can give them away. Give them away to
neighbors, family, friends, anyone that might be interested in them. You know, it's surprising,
sometimes even at work when I work in television, colleagues of mine might not like a suite
or it might not like it anymore and we swap all the time. And you would never know, I've
worn many of suits on the air that someone doesn't like or it doesn't fit them anymore,
but it looks great on me. So that leads me into the fourth thing you can do with them
is swap them. It's really fun, you may have never tried this before, but to have a swap
party. Invite your friends over and they bring any clothes that they don't want anymore over
and just swap. You'll never know what you'll find at these swap parties, but maybe they've
got a top or a pair a pants or a skirt that they don't want anymore, but it might match
great with something in your closet. So, there are a couple of ideas of what you can do with
your clothes that you might not want to wear anymore but that are still wearable.
