Okay this is Chef Dominic again with Expert Village where the experts always give you
advice. Anyways, our pasta is actually done so I am going to go ahead and take the pasta
and going to strain it in our pasta strainer. We are going to put the pasta in here. Lots
of steam. Feel like Hawaii. So we are going to run a little bit of cold water on the pasta.
This will actually help increase the chances of the pasta not sticking. So as you are running
cold water on the pasta, mix up the pasta a little bit. You will notice none of the
pasta sticks. That is why we put the oil in the water. See none of this pasta is sticky.
It is all separate. So by doing the cold water on here, it rinses off the starch of the pasta
so that the pasta does not stick together. You put the oil in the water so that the pasta
does not stick and then you put cold water and you rinse the pasta and you are rinsing
the starch off of the pasta so the pasta does not stick again. In the next segment we will
actually add the pasta to the sauce. We are almost there to eat.
