So, training for road races is a pretty complex idea. The most important thing you want to
do, though, is continuously put in miles. Say your road race is 60 miles long, you want
to be replicating that sort of effort, multiple times a week. At least two or three times
a week. You should look at if there's long climbs, there's long descents, if there's
a lot of wind. And you want to take that into account when you're training. Make sure that
you are properly eating during your training rides. Make sure you would replicate the sort
of efforts that you would be doing in these sort of races. Good ideas are doing interval
training. Interval training is when you do multiple sets of efforts, and then recover,
and repeat that over and over again. And those are some things to keep in mind when preparing
for a road race.
