Hey guys I'm Alejandra and I'm Caroline and today we're making whole wheat peanut butter
banana waffles. Awesome. So I absolutely love waffles and the reason I'm particularly a
fan of these is its basically a way to justify eating banana bread for breakfast. Agreed!
Totally acceptable when its in waffle form. So where going to get started by mixing up
our dry ingredients. We've got some whole wheat flour and some regular flour, a little
bit of sugar, some baking powder, salt, all the good stuff. Great. You want to get to
work on that one? Please. So we're actually using both whole wheat and regular flour because
if you do whole wheat flour all on its own it can be a little bit heavy and it kind of
takes over the texture and the flavor so we're kind of just mixing it up a little bit. So
while you do that we're going to get ready with our wet ingredients. So we're starting
with a little bit of buttermilk which is really really nice. If you don't have buttermilk
you can also just use milk with a teaspoon of lemon juice or vinegar. And you know I've
had good luck using plain yogurt too. Yes plain yogurt is also really good. Not the
thick stuff you want something a little thinner but it will work nicely. Got a couple eggs
in there, some butter, melted butter. You can also use olive oil or some other kind
of melted oil. This is a little bit of vanilla extract. And some bananas. You want to use
bananas that are like the riper the better. They've just got the nicest, sweetest flavor.
And most important ingredient of all, Crunch Time peanut butter. Nice. Yea. So I love Crunch
Time in this because it gives it a little but of that nutty texture. All the nuts don't
break down. Exactly. Yea it's almost like a banana nut waffle, Alright that looks good.
All blended together. All blended together and you've got this all mixed up? Yep. So
we're just slowly going to pour the wet ingredients into the dry and just whisk while. Yea just
kind of stir it in. You just kind of want to do it until there's no more dry spots a
little lumpiness is good. So while you're doing that we've got our waffle iron all pre
heated up. It is waffle time! Yes. Alright so preheated waffle iron, follow your manufacturer's
instructions, they know best. And i'm using an ice cream scoop for this. It's actually
just a little trick it makes it easier. And its nice I think to have a standard measurement
so you don't get all that spillage over your waffle iron. So I'm doing just about two scoops
here and 2 scoops over here and there were go. Close. You can hear the sizzle. It already
smells like breakfast. And now we wait. Alright so its in about two and a half minutes. Oh
i can't wait to see. Oo perfect. Gorgeous. Awesome. We're just going to add these to
our little pile here. Our golden brown stack of delicious waffles.Perfect. Waffletimes.
Alright now its waffle party time! SO there you have it, whole wheat peanut butter banana
waffles. Alright so I'm just going to butter up my waffle. Nothing better than a hot waffle!
Do you want my syrup? Uhh, yes please! Nice maple syrup. Oh that's good. The banana nut,
it really does taste like a banana nut muffin. We use whole wheat flour in our peanut butter
banana waffle recipe. What kind of flours do you like to use in your waffles? Tell us
about it in the comic section. Every week we cook up a new peanut buttery dish so be
