Hello Corinna, this is the second of our video logs. As always it is nice to hang out with
you. As there are likely to be viewers who are watching our Vlogs for the first time,
let me start today's Vlog by asking you - please tell our viewers what you do?
Hello Vivek, it is good to hang out with you too.
I am Corinna. I believe everyone has great potential but they need help to think more
clearly, confidently and creatively, so they can live the life they really want. I can
unlock your potential through creative and interactive learning. I believe learning needs
to be fun and creative to be more effective and engaging.
I am a mindmapping coach, IT and Business English trainer and dyslexia specialist. I
work with people in business, students and children.
The details about how to get in touch with me are in the description below of this Vlog
on YouTube So that's a snapshot of me and my work, now
tell us about you. Namaste, Good Day everyone, my name is Vivek
and Wake Technology Integrators is my company. I believe in living a simple life, I believe
in thinking differently. I am proud to share my beliefs with Steve Jobs and Leonardo Da
Vinci who said "Simplicity is the Ultimate in Sophistication".
As you know the days of traditional office bound IT systems are numbered. You may be
wasting money on maintaining your existing IT infrastructure. You may be agonising over
your inability to effectively use your mobile devices with your business. I would simply
suggest that you avoid the cowboys, let the Indian handle the technology and you live
a simple life. If you want to simplify your life, get in touch with me. The details about
how to contact me are in the description below of this Vlog on YouTube.
Now, Corinna how was your week? It's good to spend some time reviewing the
week that's just gone, what's been good, what's been challenging. I had a useful chat with
Basil myself on Tuesday and we discussed all kinds of ideas for internet marketing and
developing creative learning materials to complement his coaching programme. We are
looking to collaborate more closely in the future and use each other's materials. We
shall also promote them on each other's websites. I've been networking in Essex this week. It's
been really encouraging. I went to a retreat centre back in April and have made some useful
connections and keep finding myself going back. Today I took a colleague, Nihal, to
meet a new contact, Karen, who runs a therapy centre and she's keen to use both of us. She's
offered Nihal an evening talk, followed by a 6 week course on meditation. It's great,
because it's his passion and he was unsure how to promote himself. So I've been helping
unlock his potential and go after his dream. He's very excited about it and so am I.
Karen has also invited me to give a talk on my DK books for dyslexic children and on how
to engage young people with specific learning difficulties by making learning more fun and
creative. Just my thing for my brand Dancing Kites Creative Learning! We're also going
to run a half day workshop aimed at helping young adults who are struggling with dyslexia,
followed by an opportunity for assessments in the afternoon. I'm hoping it could lead
onto some coaching sessions, which I can then do via Skype from home in Bucks! I also hope
it will be the first of many. I'd love to find a similar centre nearer home, run by
a like minded person, to use this model to network and reach into the business community.
That's enough about me. How's your week been? Sadly, I was not able to make cold calls this
week. People are on holiday and all the calls went to voice mails and as you know voicemails
are hardly ever answered. On Tuesday I was at Windsor 4N where Bernard
'The Guardian Angel' gave his maiden 4Sight. Drawing from his own experience he told us
things that would cause a business to fail. I did take my good old camera and a tripod
and tried video recording the whole thing. Though I managed to get most of it, I found
that this camera stops recording after 15 minutes. New cameras don't have this limitation.
I think I would have done better if I had used the camera on my phone. But that would
have meant that I could not actively participate in the 4Sight - which was quite interactive.
I now have a special adaptor to fix the phone onto the tripod and I thinking of using it
to film myself giving my 4Sight at High Wycombe 4N.
Wednesday, had a discussion with Simon Newth, who helped me sort out some problems I had
with the Online Test that I had to complete with Utility Warehouse. It is a bit strange
that many changes that I expect to happen instantly seem to take upto 24 hours and even
a couple of phone calls to sort out. Thursday afternoon I had a session with Basil
Menie. He asked me why I had stopped networking. Apparently Stefan the Marketing Director of
4N had expressed concern about me! It is very much encouraging and heart warming to note
that people who are higher up within the 4 Networking hierarchy are taking a personal
interest in my well being. Basil wants me to integrate an eBook shop onto his website.
That's encouraging! Friday that is this morning, I was at 4N Ascot.
We had 8 people there. Sarah Wiesendanger gave a 4Sight. She talked about Self Limiting
Beliefs. She told a story about Houdini the legendary escape artist. In one of his attempts
of escaping from a straight jacket and prison cell, he found that he could not unlock the
prison cell. So he asked the prison guard whether the locks had been changed - but it
turned out that the cell was never locked. So Houdini was trying to unlock a door which
was not locked at all. Similarly we often seem to believe that a door is locked while
in reality it is not at all locked. I also had a brief discussion over the phone
with Bijan and fixed a meeting for next week. Corinna, what are the challenges that you
would be conquering in the coming days? I've got a tough week next week!! My main
challenge is catching my plane to go to France to stay with an old family friend! I'm sure
I'll do some creative thinking while I'm away. Time out always energises me and renews my
perspective, so I have more to put into developing DK further. I do recommend to my clients that
they take time out to renew their energy and get space for more creative ideas. Google
does it, allowing their employees 20% of work time to explore ideas of their choice, which
has led to lots of innovation. Maybe we all should...
So what are your challenges for next week? I will continue my attempts at making cold
calls to my close friends until I reach them and fix a meeting with them to pitch UW. Tuesday I will be meeting
Bijan to discuss further on the joint venture we are doing.
Wednesday is going to be a hectic day. In the morning I will be at 4N High Wycombe - giving
my 4Sight. In the afternoon I would be rushing to Heathrow to pick up my family who would
be back from their holidays in India. No plans for Thursday and Friday as yet.
I might attend 4N Bracknell on Thursday morning. By the way Corinna, how is your presentation
video coming along? I've done a lot of work on changing bullet
points to images with texts and given some thought to the words I shall say. I haven't
yet done the recording, as I've been busy networking and working on my latest ebook.
More about that another time! I think we are continuing what we started
last week. It is different and useful. But now, it is time to conclude for today.
It's been great to chat again using Google Hangout.
