Hi, this is Miranda Thacker with your KYTC Minute.
This month, a number of Kentucky Transportation Cabinet maintenance professionals will graduate
from two special training programs called "Roads Scholars" and "Road Master."
These professional development programs are coordinated by the Kentucky Transportation
Center at the University of Kentucky. They're specifically designed to teach techniques
and processes necessary for maintaining roadways. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the
Roads Scholar and Road Master programs. In 2013, a total of 124 people will graduate
from the Roads Scholar Program and 120 people from the Road Master Program.
We're pleased to note that each of the 12 KYTC highway districts will have at least
one program graduate this year. Through professional development programs
like Roads Scholar and Road Master, Transportation Cabinet employees are better equipped to handle
highway maintenance challenges more efficiently. This has been your KYTC Minute. Visit transportation.ky.gov
every Thursday for updated information.
