Throughout the months of January, February, and March, the scenes of Earth look barren and bleak
showing absolutley no signs of life as we know it.
No organisms are to be detected by even the most careful observations or microscopic studies
The first stirrings of life, simple single-celled microorganisms, appear early in the month of April
And the unique story of our solar system begins.
By the last week in April, multicelled organisms arrive on the scene through the miracle of evolution.
The forms continue to change and evolve
until.. the the first vertebrates explode onto the scene by the last week of May
By the end of July, the first plants begin the colonization of the continents, abandoning the sea for the first time.
In late August, the first land vertebrates , the amphibians, put in an appearance.
The first reptiles appear by the middle of September.
A major mass extinction mysteriously wipes out 95% of all species about two thirds of the way through september.
Many reasons have been suggested for this event but it's so far back in time that it's hard to find enough evidence to prove or disprove them
As life recovers from this devestating blow, the dinosaurs rise quickly
to dominate the scene from the lattar part of September through October and much of November, a period of about 70 days.
The first mammals also appear in the third week of November.
The raising of the Rocky Mountain, the Himalayas in Asia and the Alps in Europe signal the end of the era of the repitilian domination.
At the end of October a large meteor or a comet collides with earth to result in the demise of the dinosaurs.
In December the mammals come to dominate the life forms of the planet.
As Christmas day comes, the Colorado River begins to cut downward into
the Rising Colorado Plateau
to form the Grand Canyon
About noon hour on December 31, the first primitive humans begin to pop up in the grasslands of East and South Africa,
At 1pm of December 31st The northen and southern Polar Region glaciers advance. These glaciers, advance a retreat,
over northern North America and
Western Europe
At 11:45 of the New Year The prominence of human beings is well established
as refined stone implements are being produced.
At 11:50, the Neolithic Revolution occurs.
The first conscious cultivation of the soil to producte food takes place.
At 5 minutes to midnight, we see the dawn of civilzation in the Mesoptamia region, followed quickly by similar developments in Egypt, the Indus Valley and the Mediterranean Basin.
