G'day everyone. My name is Daniel O'Grady and welcome to another Wasabicars video.
Thank you all very much for joining me. And, straight up, I want to say thank you
to New Zealand. The whole nation. No, the people who watch
Wasabicars' videos because you guys consistently watch each video longer.
I've seen the stats. Seriously.
I guess you like your Japanese cars, or the cars that I spot.
Thank you very much, guys. Appreciated.
Next, I want to talk about... T-shirts. I go on about these things a lot.
I also get lots of questions like, where do I get a shirt?
I'm not making that up. Seriously.
Where do I get a shirt? How much is it in ... dollars?
American dollars, Canadian dollars... There's a link.
Always, there's a link in the description below.
Under the video, you can see down there. Spreadshirt, maybe it's wasabicars.spreadshirt.com
or something like that. It will take you to a website. They produce
the shirts, they put the designs on the shirts. Go there and you can where they ship to, you
can see how much everything costs. I'm not a currency converter, Figure it out.
Go to Google. I'm sure you can fingure out how to convert
the currency to whatever your currency is. Good luck with that.
Okay, well let's get into this car. It is of course an absolutely stunning car.
It is a Series II, first-generation, Mazda Cosmo.
These (Series II's) were built from 1968 to 1972.
I believe, because I spoke to the owner and he told me, that this was built in 1969.
It is a 10A, twin-rotor, Wankel engine. Capacity is about 982cc... about.
And, on the back of that is a 5 speed manual transmission.
How cool is that? Five speeds back in 1969.
That would've been awesome. Under the hood is something a little bit special.
Well, there's the engine, which I just mentioned. But, also there's that thing over there.
That is a compressor for the air-conditioning. I guess that's probably not so special, but
this was a rare option in the Cosmo. It is a factory original, air-conditioning
for this Mazda Cosmo. There it is.
And that takes us nicely to the inside of the car.
Because, upon speaking to the owner, he said, Hey, check out that parcel shelf behind the
seats. That box up there near the shoulders, near
where your shoulder would be, that is the vents where the cool air comes through.
He was pretty happy to tell me about that. There you go, guys. That's it.
Now, let's check out the dash and the steering wheel.
Oh my god, look at that, guys. It's like a cockpit. It's got great style.
1969 style. 60's, 60's-sportscar style. Loving that wood-rimmed steering wheel.
Almost no dish... probably no dish. I can't really confirm that.
But, yeah. Almost no dish on that steering wheel.
Nice and neat and clean, complete. That is a winner.
Loving that. Let's jump to the outside again because I
want to point out the wheels. I just love those wheels.
15 inch wheels. Steel rims, and they've got little hubcaps.
Genuine "hub" caps, polished and beautiful. I love that blue and that rotor triangle in
the design. That is a winner.
Loving it. Okay, guys. I think I am done.
Today's question of the day, the link is pretty weak. A pretty weak link.
This is a Cosmo, and the only other Cosmo that I've ever heard of is Cosmo Kramer from
Seinfeld. Do you remember Seinfeld?
Comedian? George Costanza? Can't stand ya?
And, Elaine and Jerry Seinfeld himself. I used to watch that show a lot.
That's the Cosmo that sticks out in my mind, and he used to do lots of wacky stuff.
I remember he was playing golf into the ocean, hitting balls into the ocean.
I forget how it all worked out but George Costanza, at the end he pulls out a golf ball
from the whale and saves the whale, he's a hero.
It was all pretty funny. Remember that? My question of the day is, let me know your
Seinfeld memory. If you did not watch Seinfeld, I totally understand
that but tell me your favourite TV show from the last 10-20 years.
Let me know. Educate me. Seriously, if you tell me what you liked,
I google stuff. I actually take notice of your answers.
So, please do that. Thank you once again New Zealand.
And, if you wish to buy a shirt, if you'd like to buy a shirt. Awesome. Link below of
course. Take it easy, guys.
Thank you very much. See you.
