Welcome to another episode of BullshitBusters, as you know we are trying to bust internet
and youtube ***. My name is Vol Jang and this is my research assistant Steve. Alwaysdatkidd
send us link to an article about how social networks will destroy this society and he's
asking if it is a ***.
First point of the article is that social networking sites make us egocentric ***.
That is not true, what they really do is exposing us for egocentric *** we are. In this
way social networks help us see who of our peers is the most egocentric *** of them
all, the person is easily recognizable by posting just too many *** things.
The next point is about number of friends, they are saying that if someone has a lot
of facebook friends they have almost no friends in real life, well thank you captain obvious,
but again, this doesn't mean that social networks turn us into this, that's just what people
are if you can see it.
Ok, the rest of the points can be counter by the same argument, people are ***,
that's who they are, they were not turned into *** by evil facebook or twitter,
but they use these services and these services were developed because they are ***!
Articles such as this are misinforming people, because they don't see what is really the
cause, that means that we are not heading into fiery pitts of hell because of facebook
we are just stuck on status quo, people are not getting dummer, it's just easier to see
how dumb people really are, because information can be spread much easier.
It is the same with news, a lot of people think that government manipulates with news
to keep citizens in fear, but reality is that people like to be scared, news channels only
give people what they want. They are not dumming them down, they are making news for dumb people.
In a same way as facebook and other social network sites are for egocentric people, people
who agree with articles such as this are just another form ofegoistic ***, because they
like to feel morally and intellectually superior to other people. At the end we can say that
most people suffer of serious case of Unwarranted Self-Importance.
Article claims to be scientific and in a way it is, but they are assuming that people before
social networks were not *** and they were. We can safely say that this is a ***,
if something exposes something for what it is, it doesn't mean it was the cause. Have
a great day.
