We have a lot of intelligent metering around our main campus in South Kensington but some
of the outlying campuses we still have teams of people who go around taking manual meter
reads every month and the way they did it was a bit archaic, they would write them down
on a bit of paper then that bit of paper would get written down onto a spreadsheet then maybe
at some point in the future we would notice were was an extra digit or a meter reading
on backwards so it was all a bit haphazard really.
So how is the mobile app helping you then?
Well the mobile app is going to, we're going to give it to then teams so when they go round
taking the meter reads; we'll give them a list of meters in their usual routine, their
order and they'll be able to put the meter reads directly into the app, that'll then
validate check that the meter hasn't gone backwards and that is the number of digits
expected to see and that will automatically then sync with the Sigma server which we host
in South Kensington,
So what's it like working with TEAM then are they a good bunch?
Yeah they're great, they're fantastic, really responsive, the support desk is superb and
the development side in particular is really good. I approached TEAM probably about a year
ago with a requirement for an app or something, something to bring our meter reads in to the
21st century and then from that point to where we are now, they've reached out and there
are other organisations who have a similar requirement so now that app is being deployed
as a standard part of the core functionality of the software.
In terms of recommending TEAM, would you and why?
Yes I would and yes I have, to several organisations who are currently I think working towards
installing Sigma, might be hosted service, might be not, but there's are 3 or 4 organisations
who I've contacted and who have contacted me, I've demonstrated the software and they're
now in the process of deploying it.
