My name is Mary Ward and I'm part of the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning program. I'm faculty.
Our program covers all aspects of the heating, refrigeration and air conditioning industry.
Anywhere from the design and choosing of equipment to doing actual hands-on work.
Most of our students like to get their hands dirty and go out there and actually fix things for a living
which I can relate to.
You know when you graduate you have so many opportunities in this field and you can go in designing, you
could go in maintenance, you could go in sales. With the knowledge that I have here, I think I could be a good design candidate.
We have a lot of contacts. There are companies that like to deal with our students and like to use them to help them
get some work done in the summer because in heating, ventilation and air conditioning the summer is a busy time.
Our faculty is very diverse. We have faculty that have commercial experience, we have faculty that have
experience with residential equipment. We have two labs. The lab that we're in right now is primarily for
refrigeration. We have some trainer units. Also, to help them get the basics of electricity before we bring them on
to the live equipment with all sorts of wires, we have some fantastic boards that bring it back to basics and also
over in our other lab we have a gas lab and there we have more gas equipment. We have a variety of equipment that
available to tear apart so that they can actually look inside of it and see what's inside of it.
As long as they're interested in working with their hands and how things work and keep an open mind
then they'll love the program.
