>>Curtis Holtzen: Hi I'm Curtis Holtzen and I teach at Hope International University
and we're addressing the issue of how to make sure
that a faculty member does not spend too much time answering individual questions.
So one thing that we're encouraging is that you have students ask their questions
in a public forum, especially if it's related to content.
Sometimes in a discussion a student will have a follow-up question regarding the readings
or the lectures and they'll want to email you that question.
But if it's asked in a public forum, that way you only have
to answer this question one time for all of the students.
Plus it may be a question that the other student's have never even considered,
so by encouraging or requiring that the question be asked in a public forum,
there's greater education that takes place, plus it's a time saver for you
so you're not answering the same question over and over again.
