Alright guys, got a new monitor for you today. Check this out.
This is the Acer G24 and you've probably seen it.
It was probably bundled with their big orange computer that they made
not too long ago, a big gaming PC that was out of control.
Liquid cool and got a really fancy case and while they produced a
very fancy monitor to go with it. Now the first thing you'll notice obviously is that it is
very very orange, so orange is cool. If you don't know this, this is an equation.
Orange = cool. It matches anything that you might have that could be orange.
Like I have this orange laptop, you can have an orange car, orange hair,
something like that you know. You could be a, what are the name of the kids from Southpark?
Ginger Kids. It could be a Ginger Kid. Let's talk about some of the specs in this model.
Now, first of all obviously it's a 24", it's very big, it's very bright,
it's very clear, it's got a glossy front, so if you like the glossy fronts,
that's really cool, you're gonna like it. It's very very reflective.
It could bring up some issues with, you know, reflections in a bright room,
but in most rooms it's not. It's also a very bright monitor, 400 Nit.
So right now it's cranked down to about 20% of that brightness that's available on it,
just because we can't film it at that brightness.
It just comes out like a big white spot.
It does 1920 x 1200 maximum resolution, 400 Nit and it has a claimed,
50000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio. It does look pretty good black, do look
you know very black and whites are very bright, so I believe that contrast ratio but
the testing behind that, you know is yet to be discussed.
But, regardless if you're doing static contract ratio, it's still way over 1,000.
Makes it look really good. It's got an amazing response time.
It's a 2 ms Response time. So that's very fast, it's a great pixel.
Extremely quick so a very very good monitor for gaming.
This is pretty much the basis of this monitor.
It is meant that it is designed for gamers, by gamers, to game, game on.
Go ahead and do whatever you want. You're not gonna see any motion blur 2 ms.
That's pretty much as fast as it gets. I've never really seen faster.
I've seen a couple that were 1.0 and 0.5 and stuff and 0.02 but
that's some freak stuff you're never gonna see it and it's gonna cost a fortune.
So the fact that this monitor is available, a 1920 x 1200 with 400 Nits or cd/m² of
brightness as well as that very high contrast ratio, it's great.
The price points awesome. The glossy screen will get you very far.
Let's talk about some of the connectivity on here.
I guess I can turn it around for you guys. Let me turn this puppy around.
You do have your most basic and most important connections on the bottom.
Those are gonna be, as you can see right here. You've got a VGA.
VGA is gonna be very important. DVI is gonna be very important as well.
And then finally, you can't see it but right over, let's see if I can get to it,
yeah it's right next to it, that's an HDMI.
So if you want input HDMI, you can, not a problem.
And that's convenient and useful, so it's there.
That's pretty much every type of connection that you would want,
on a modern monitor today, so it's great for that.
What else can I tell you about it, 176 Degree Viewing Angle is very very good.
As you can see, I'm actually watching, I can see crisis from right here and
I'm about 176 degrees offside so, it looks great. I see color rendering is
just fine, so it looks great. As you will notice it does have
all the buttons down here and they're nice and hidden.
You've got your menu buttons and your right and left buttons I guess,
for selecting brightness and contrast features.
So very good on that as well. Pretty easy to feel around for them.
They're actually on the bottom and I had no problem,
flipping through the menus at all, which is kind of annoying thing on most monitors.
It's not very intuitive on how you want to introduce the menus but
Menu button brings up the Menu. You hit again to enter and to escape.
You can just get any other button and it will bring you out.
Now observing the actually qualities of the monitor.
Back lighting was very even, very proportionate.
You know, you could tell it was very uniform.
Obviously with 400cd/m² of brightness, it's got a very strong backlight.
Very good color rendering. Minimal banding, when you look at
the LCD test screens, so that's great. The super fast response time obviously is
amazing, it's gonna be great for gaming. And, I love the glossy screen.
I mean it makes everything look sharp and clear.
It also really helps with the saturation of the colors.
They look very like robust colors. And that helps a lot with the glossy screen.
So, it's an excellent monitor. I recommend it at a great price.
And get this, a 3 year warranty. So you know it's gonna stick around.
You're gonna have it for a while. It will last.
And last thing I'll talk to you about real quick is just about how it adjusts.
Pretty much you tilt and that's about it. It doesn't swivel but,
who needs to swivel, it'll just, you know, swivel on its own.
So, great, great 24" monitor from Acer it's called the G24.
Very nice monitor. If you have any questions on it
email me and I will see you guys next time.
