Welcome to my studio everybody, my name's Lars-Erik Robinson and today I thought we'd
talk about how to draw flowers. This is one of the most favorite things a lot of people
like to draw. And this is called, usually called still life. When you look at something
for example, if we have these statues right here we're looking at it and we're drawing
it; if I had these flowers exactly right here I'd be having it lit and I made this up. So
we have different flowers, so today we're talking about how to draw different flowers.
So I'm going to use the pencil in a way sometimes I use markers just to be able to show. But
I think if I go strong enough with the pressing down, I can also take, instead of just doing
lines all the time, which I have a bad habit of just going right to the lines. And I believe
that's my caricature thing I've been doing now for a long time. Which it helps me, I
mean I enjoy it very much and I'm a very much of a people person. And it helps me get out
and be able to meet people out in the streets. Lot of times I'm down at pier sixty on Clearwater
Beach out here in Florida. So, I'm just blessed to be able to do this. So we're drawing different
flowers. We have the roses, we got the triangular flowers, and then we have the type that are
kind of fluffy and smaller flowers. Of course they have the baby breath coming up. And this
would help if I had something I was drawing from but this is where light comes in also,
if you can the light coming from the side. And the leaves on that side will be dark because
it's in the shadow. But the leaves on the other side is in the light, so you will see
the light on it there..draw another flower there. Now notice the chiaroscuro there. That's
what that's called when you're leaving a little highlight there, and because it's lighter
on the ground and that's what's picking up on the side of the vase. And it's the same
thing on this flower up here. It's picking up the highlight from the ground or something
that's right next to it. Well there's a quick sample of how to draw flowers. I hope that
helps you all understand how to get different flowers and their arrangements together.
