Hello, I'm Andrew from Marler Haley and today I'm going to talk to you about events and
exhibitions and generally how you pick the correct exhibition or event for you or for
your business so for us at Marler Haley, the key area for us is, typically small to medium
sized businesses. Also we work in the Education and Charity sector so we would be looking
at events in those areas that are going to give us visitors and prospects that work chiefly
in those areas. So the other consideration for you is location. Marler Haley is a UK
wide business, we're an online business, so we can service all over the UK. Again for
you, that may be different, you may have a strong focus in a particular part of the UK,
or a particular part of Europe and your focus to attract clients is driven by that rather
than anything else. You also need to consider the resources that you take to that event,
so the stand needs to be manned, make sure that you can free up the sales staff or office
management to do a good job for you at the event and make sure that you take advantage
in the best way you can of the sort of prospects and leads that might be available. Resources,
also with regard to the stand itself, and the equipment that you might want to take
and the display equipment that you might want to have on the stand you need to take careful
consideration to make sure you can resource correctly for that sort of stuff. With the
stand itself it's always good to check prices. Square metre prices, typically you buy a stand
by square metre price so make sure that that square metre price is comparable with other
events in the same industry and events in the same sector and make sure that you're
not over paying, or paying a premium for that space at that particular event. So in summary,
the key areas for you to look at is the target audience, make sure that you're driving the
right visitor to the stand to support your business and do what you need it to do. Make
sure that location, if there's a geographic specific area for you that you're prominent
in that area and make sure that your resourced correctly to make the most out of that event
in terms of staff and equipment. Then, focus on price. Make sure that you're not paying
too much for a stand space in that area. Thank you.
