Hi I’m Kristen, and in this video I’m going to teach you how to custom line your
own envelopes using any specialty paper you choose using our acrylic envelope liner templates.
Now we have these in two sizes, A2 or 6 ½ square and A7. Now in this video I’m going
to show you how to use the A7 template. Now an A7 envelope simply means an envelope that
measures 5 ¼ by 7 ¼ and today we’re going to use the template to line it with this Japanese
Chiyogami paper. So begin by opening up your template. Of course, as you can see, there
are instructions on the back. And what we’re going to do is take the template and trace
it on the back of a sheet of Chiyogami. This way, after you trace it, you won’t have
any pencil lines remaining on the front after it’s cut. So I like to line it up to the
edges because that’s less cutting and like I said, we’ll just trace around as close
to the edge as you can get. And of course when you’re doing multiple envelopes you can fit multiple templates to
one sheet. And we’ll just cut this out being as careful as I can to stick to the lines.
Okay, there’s your liner. Now I also want to mention before I glue this in that you
can also do the same thing and use an X-Acto knife to just cut straight out without tracing.
I like to place the liner inside and fold it where I want it to be folded before gluing
it. It just comes out smoother that way. Line it about where you want it and just be careful
when you do fold that you don’t wrinkle any of it. And then take some glue, press
it down firmly, fold it again one more time, make sure it’s still in place, and that’s
it! You’ve just custom lined your own envelope. Now I’ve printed an invitation card in green
and you can see how a matching lined envelope really makes for a nice presentation. This
is an unlined envelope and this is the whole ensemble with the lined envelope. It just
really ups the ante. If you have any questions about custom lining your own envelopes, get
in touch with us. We’d love to hear from you.
