guys, its Sam from Promotion Dating. Today we are going to talk about the power of storytelling
and the reason that storytelling is so important is because that is the language that women
talk in. Thats their language and how else are you supposed to build up attraction and
chemistry with someone unless you can talk in a language they can understand.
So Ill give you an example. This is actually a dating profile I wrote for one of my clients.
He had recently traveled to Thailand and you can even try this exercise in public. You
can go ask your friend Joe or John or whatever his name is and ask him how a recent trip
he went on was and theyll normally say it was good and of course thats all they
say and you learn nothing about their trip. But the way a women describes a trip in much
more vivid detail. Theres actually a Friends episode where you see the girls talking about
a date they went on and the women go in so much detail. Every single thing is analyzed.
Whereas the guys are to the point and their response is a sentence long.
So an example was he went to Thailand. Most guys would say Thailand was good and that
was it. Whereas a women would sayand heres what I wrote in the guys profile. I wrote
I recently spent several weeks in Thailand. It was the first time I experienced culture
shock. Bangkok feels like two cities in one. One on hand you have giant skyscrapers that
dwarf anything youd see here in Edmonton and just a few blocks down you have shanty
towns that remind you that you are in a developing country. It was really the first time that
deep in my bones I felt fortunate to live in a country like Canada.
Notice the difference between the two stories? How one was a sentence long and the other
described Bangkok as having these giant towers that dwarf anything you see here in Edmonton
and then a few blocks down you have shanty towns. It sort of paints a picture for you
and thats exactly what your stories have to be. And youre probably wondering, well
how do I get better at my stories? A really good way at getting better at storytelling
is to take your phone or some type of audio recording device and actually think of 5 things
you talk about in your everyday life. It could be where you grew up, could be a trip you
went on, could be some of your hobbies, could be your favourite coffee shops in the City.
Then write down a story and read that story out loud and listen back to it. Does you voice
sound interesting, is your story interesting? Because remember guys if you cant turn
yourself on with your own story, you cant turn that girl on. So Ill see you next
time. g h wxKhl@h:PhP"h
