Hi I'm Lynn Warner. I'm the Chairman of THROB.
THROB is The Heart Rehabilitation Organisation Of Berkshire.
We are a registered Charity supporting people in Berkshire and beyond
who want to maintain a healthy lifestyle following coronary heart disease
and other cardiac problems.
THROB currently supports 28 exercise classes a week across Berkshire.
8 of these are in the Royal Borough. All classes are run by B.A.C.R
approved instructors and more instructors are being trained every year
so classes are available to new areas. Our classes are currently
Bracknell, Burnham, Langley, Maidenhead, Windsor, Winkfield and Wokingham.
THROB is a group of peole just like you. We formed in 1991 with just one class
a week and have been working together, not simply to recover
from heart disease, but in many cases to become healthier and happier
than we were before we were ill. You really can enjoy life after heart problems.
Throughout our fund raising acivities members of THROB provide practical
support for local hospitals like St Marks, Heatherwood and Wexham Park
and to doctors and nurses working with heart patients like us.
There are regular social events where you can enjoy the company of other
THROB members, friends and supporters.
We publish a quarterly newsletter to keep you informed, entertained and amused.
If you break a bone, injure a muscle or joint you will often be referred
for physiotherapy, THROB and our members
believe we also need physio for our hearts too.
We also support community projects covering all age groups
to assist people and families that are at risk of coronary heart disease.
