Society teaches us
all about instant gratification.
We're told from all different directions that you're not good enough.
You need to get this to be happy, you need to get that to be happy, you need to do this
be happy,
that there's a real deep sense in a, they really feed of the fact that
we don't always feel good on the inside because they know,
they know what they're doing, right? And so it's always about the next
best thing, the next quick fix. And, ultimately,
it puts us in this rat race where we're never satisfied.
Once we get it, then we're still stuck with the feeling, then we go for the next,
and we're still stuck with the feeling...
You know, we have these moments when we're like "Wohoo, I got this," and then it goes away, and so you
need to go to the next thing.
And, ultimately, we haven't been taught properly
as a society, as a whole, how to actually take care of
those difficult feelings inside of us, how to tend to them and soothe them, and
make them feel better,
without having to depend on some external source for a quick,
a quick fix because, ultimately, the quick fix,
either you're going and you're getting a drink, or you're gonna go
shopping, or you're gonna go eat something...
Who knows what you're gonna do, sometimes it's detrimental and sometimes it feels
really good in the moment, it gives you a high,
but then it makes you feel much lower, because now you're in debt,
now you're fat, now you're drunk or whatever situation it is that,
ultimately, is hurting us in the long run, and isn't actually taking care of our
well-being for the long haul.
