Hi, this is John Souza and I'm the Chief Strategist here at Social Media Marketing University.
Welcome to Pinterest for Success Week. On our weekly Inner Circle calls we receive a
lot of questions asking exactly, "How do I use Pinterest to market my business?"
So this week we're going to show you how important it can be to your bottom line and we're going
to give you some quick tips on how to implement Pinterest as part of your social media strategy.
First off, let me tell you that Pinterest can be an absolutely big impact to your marketing
efforts.
For example, Pinterest has already taken the lead by capturing forty-four percent of the
trackable ecommerce revenue activity taking the lead against social media giants such
as Facebook and Twitter.
A recent report from Gigya said that target stores had a dramatic web traffic increase
of over seventy percent by implementing an effective Pinterest marketing strategy utilizing
applications such as Rich Pins.
Companies also found that Pinterest users spend more money on average - for example,
IBM reported that buyers originating from Pinterest alone spent seventy seven percent
more than those referred from Facebook, Bing and even Google.
I included two articles below on some best practices on how to include Pinterest as part
of your social media strategy right now, taking advantage of the fact that people are still
in that festive, buying mood.
The first article will show you Three Ways to Leverage Sales During the Holiday Clean-Up,
and our Ten After-Christmas Inspiration Ideas article will give you some great insight on
how to create content tailored for your audience.

On behalf of the whole entire SMMU team, I wish you a wonderful New Year.
