A recent Public Survey shows that Americans Shift Preference for "Happy Holidays" over
"Merry Christmas"
The Public Religion Research Institute asked this question to in its survey.
Do you think stores and businesses should greet their customers with 'Happy Holidays'
or 'Seasons Greetings' instead of 'Merry Christmas' out of respect for people of different faiths,
or not?
49 percent of the people said "Yes" for this question. i-e 49 percent of Americans believe
that stores and businesses should use "happy holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" while
only 43 percent of the people supported for "merry Christmas".
Support for "happy holidays" is up five percentage points when comparing to 2010 survey results.
