Alright you're looking at the Samsung X460. This thing is extremely cool,
you guys have seen the X360, now the X360 is like one of those 'Uber', high flagship models,
it's very expensive, it's very small, it's very light, it has no DVD drive,
it has no integrated graphics, it has a very small Solid State drive,
and it still costs a lot of money. And that's because it's so small and it's so thin and
it's so light. This, is really cool, because this computer is also very small, very thin, very light
it's got a slightly bigger monitor, of course it's a little bit heavier,
you know it's not that ultra small, 2.7 pound, deal, but it looks almost identical in every
way shape or form. Fingerprint reader is in the same place,
this looks the same. It's all that glossy front with the Chicklet style keyboard,
it's got a Samsung monitor, Samsung memory, Samsung battery,
uses DDR3 but it's got some other options on it that make it a little more enticing to the regular
user besides just the fact that it's a lot cheaper. It's over a 1000$ cheaper than the X360.
It has more than double the hard drive space 'cause it uses a hard drive versus
a Solid State drive, and besides that it's got discreet graphics.
Let's jump right on in it. First of, let me give you a brief tour of everything.
As you're going to see it has that red on the outside, just like the X360,
you can also get it in black which look extremely extremely elegant. This is all brush aluminum
up here on the front. Everything else on the top is glossy. Now, let's go over the front.
Real quick. I don't know if you can see these right here. These are all your hard drive
indicator lights and there are a lot of them. You have a hard drive, Wi-Fi, battery,
you have charger and then you have your 'Caps Lock', 'Num Lock' and 'Scroll Lock'.
Over here is your multi card reader. It's actually quite hidden. Very elegantly integrated into
the notebook. I couldn't get it to you if I try. You want to try raising the gain?
There we go. Very hidden. We had to raise the gain to show you on the camera.
That is how nicely packed and integrated it is in there. Now we're going to move on over here,
to this side. You got some more great stuff over here. Right here, also very hidden,
boom. Very nicely integrated, that's a 34 mm Express Card slot, so if you want to add a 3G card
or a little sound card, whatever you want, you can throw it in there.
It's a nice little peripheral, and here's the big difference between this,
and the X360. The X460 does have a full on DVD burner, it is ultra slim, ultra small,
and it is there you know. Compared to the X360 where you have to kind of, use another computer
and then load up a flash drive and do all sorts of stuff. Kind of annoying.
Here you can get a True Blue DVD burner built right into it, and it works perfectly.
Moving down the line USB 2.0, and your Kensington lock,
back over here we have a V92 56K modem. We have another USB 2.0 port,
across that huge 6-cell battery which lasts forever almost, you have your HDMI.
And then this is where you plug it into power. Moving on to this other side over here,
you have Gigabit Ethernet, a VGA port, another USB port, making 3 in total,
and your input and output for your headset and microphone.
Wow! That's just crazy and awesome. Now, let's get to the good stuff.
Specifications. Now, like I mention on the X360 video, I'll mention it again on this video.
Samsung hasn't made laptops for the American market for a while, they've never really offered
them, they've always been kind of an Asian market. They make amazing products,
they make amazing monitors, batteries and memory, now imagine what happens when they get their
3 top products they produce, and they put it into one of their flagship models.
One of their best engineered flagship models where they want to show off.
What do you get? You get a masterpiece. You get a really cool computer.
So get this. Just to give you an idea, of the work that goes into making a laptop
this thin, this small, this light yet this powerful... The latest technology.
Hear a couple details that I'll share with you. First of all, this little keyboard looks Chicklet
styled, very nice. But I'll tell you what. They spray nano silver ion particles onto this keyboard
and you know what that does? It makes it anti-bacterial.
Ok? For up to 10 years. This keyboard is anti-bacterial because of those
nano silver particles. Ok? So that's very impressive. Also,
a little word up on the materials used in here, all along this edge over here,
and all along here, there's a really sturdy frame and the material they use had to be light
yet strong. And titanium was too flimsy and still heavy. You know what they used? Magnesium.
That's right, there is magnesium in the frame of this computer. That's one of the lightest metals,
one of the lightest alloys and that's actually what they used. It's very expensive.
Alright, let's get into specs. I've jibber-jabbered enough.
Let's get to the good stuff. Centrino 2 technology is on board. The latest and greatest from Intel
on the processor. It's the a P8400, that's a 2.24 GHz processor, very fast,
very efficient, 45 NM. It works really really well You also have 3 GB of DDR3 memory.
DDR3. Yes. So that's onboard as well, again that's very very fast. You also have a 320 Gig
hard drive. You do have that DVD-RW, you have your integrated webcam, right up here at the top.
Very slender, very hidden, you almost don't see it.
You have again that the delicious, just beautiful gorgeous monitor. I can't say enough about how
nice it looks. Let me show you real quick how you crank up the...
Look how bright it is. That's the normal brightness settings. We have to lower it,
to here just so it looks Ok in the video. That's how bright and gorgeous this monitor is.
You have an integrated webcam, you have a port replicator. Let me show you that
port replicator. That's another pretty cool feature. See that right there?
Zoom in, right there. If you're going to use this, let's say you're traveling,
aristocratic, you know, super mobile, ultra professional cool guy.
And you got a big sale, and you just hit it and you got back,
and now you want to get all your information from your laptop.
You drop it on the desk, it's going to charge via these 2 ports right here,
and then right here it's going to pretty much integrate into your monitor,
your keyboard, your mouse, any external storage you have as well as your network,
all through this 1 port, on your port replicator. Another really cool feature is.. Check that out.
See right there? It's an external battery tester. Where's the button? I can't feel it.
Oh my gosh. I've lost all finger... Feeling in my finger tips.
There it goes. So you push it and it tells you how much battery you have left.
80 percent. It comes with 80 percent from the factory. Which is awesome,
you can turn it on right out of the box. Now, also onboard, again this is for
ultra mobile professionals that have the dough to be spending a bit extra for a really beautiful
laptop that's very light and small. Let's talk about some of these wireless mobility technologies
that are on here. First of all, Bluetooth 2.0, is on here, with EDR. You can connect your
skype headsets, stereo headphones, any devices that you may have that sync up with Bluetooth
are going to all work on here with that Bluetooth. You also have n-draft wireless.
Which is the multiple in, multiple out, the latest version of 802.11,
the latest protocol. It goes over 300 meters. That's a thousand feet if you're using it with
a comparable or compatible n-draft wireless router.
So that's extreme wireless technology. You also get the 7 in 1 card reader, so if you're taking
pictures you can upload them to the hard drive. You have the Express Card slot which can add
you peripherals. What else am I missing here? Oh! I missed the best part.
I forgot to tell you guys. Here's the kicker. Here's the kicker.
9200 Mobile GS video card onboard, 256 MB of DDR3 by NVIDIA, so... If you want to play
a little game on there, no problem. That's something that the X360 doesn't have,
despite being a 1000$ more expensive. This actually does have,
discreet graphics. That's going to increase your Vista performance,
for... If you're using the sidebar, or the Aero interface, it's going to take a lot of CPU cylcles
off, it's also going to help you play games, graphics, render stuff in Photoshop,
etc, etc, etc... That's really awesome, and of course with 6-cell battery,
you're going to get about 6 hours of battery life. Which is extremely impressive for having
dedicated graphics, an LED backlit monitor, all this great stuff.
It's a really really nice laptop. I'll leave you with it's slender profile.
If you have any questions email me, I'll see you guys next time.
