Hi! This is Peggy Charlton from Expert Village and today I would to talk to you about how
to write in a journalistic style manner. In this lead, is exactly 28 words. So and most
of these are about the same size so you can see 25 to 30 words is about the right length.
There are several types of length. You have the the straight lengths which are what I
just read. They are basically the straight summary lengths and then you can have feature
lengths which are a little bit catchy. I want to give you some examples of feature leads
at this time. This is an article of return as commander about NASA and this is by Mark
Karu from the Houston Chronicle. Notice how it is just a little bit different than a news
lead; it's catchy. After 6 months aboard the international space station in 2002, NASA
Astronaut Peggy Whitson knew what she wanted more than anything else. In the next paragraph,
it was a chance to go back. So that is making you read on that story.
