TYLER PARKS: One day, one of the producers, Todd, actually
just gave me a call and said hey, we saw your dancing
choreography reel.
And we would love to have you on set to work with this
amazing kid that we have.
I love the song.
I loved the song from the first time I heard it.
I really didn't know much about him before the shoot.
They had sent me a video of his audition, and I
was like oh, wow.
They're like, yeah, this is the kid we booked, Shamari.
He's great.
Do you think you could work with him?
And I was like, definitely.
He has rhythm, he has a great look.
And he's fun.
He's very personable and very outgoing.
So I was like, yeah, I think it'll be great.
Sabastian wasn't actually going to be in the video, but
it was just going to be almost like a montage of feeling.
And this kid embodies all of these different emotions but
through dance in different scenes.
So I was like, oh, that sounds really neat.
And he was telling me, yeah, but no one's
going to see the kid.
And I was like wait, what?
I was like, OK, well I want to go over some moves with you.
And it was about an hour and a half before they were going to
start shooting and so I just worked with him
on different steps.
And then we actually came up with some combos that I wanted
him to do, and we just kept moving like that.
And then sometimes it would literally be right before the
shooting, right before the director called action.
I'd be OK, I want you to do this and this
and this and this.
I just showed him it and I changed it.
And it was perfect because he just flowed with
it and kept it moving.
